Jesuit Archives South Asia (India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Pakistan) is a collaborative archival project initiated by the Jesuit Studies South Asia department of the Xavier Centre of Historical Research (XCHR) in Goa, India.

As custodians of a rich historical patrimony that has been bequeathed to us through generations, our Jesuit archives are intrinsic to our identity as Jesuits. They are also spaces where we encounter our humanity and our shared histories.

The XCHR, in partnership with the Archivum Romanum Societatis Iesu (ARSI) – the central archives of the Society of Jesus in Rome – will collaborate with five Jesuit provinces within the South Asia Assistancy, and organise these five Jesuit archives using current archive management practices and make them available to scholars for research. The XCHR remains committed to historical research. The organisation of these archives is an expression of our commitment to society.
